The Custom Voxel Editor

Voxel Studio · Custom Voxels

The Custom Voxel Editor is a full-screen modal that opens from the Edit button on any custom voxel (or from + Create new). It shares most of its UI with the MicroVoxel Editor but adds sizing and export-related controls.

Canvas

A 3D grid of the size you set. Left-click paints with the active palette colour, right-click erases, middle-click-drag orbits. The grid floor is always visible under the model to help with proportions.

Tools

  • Paint / Erase.
  • Eye-dropper.
  • Rectangle - fills a 3D box in a single stroke.
  • Fill - connected-region fill.
  • Mirror - mirrors strokes across the X / Y / Z axes (toggle per axis).

Palette

Voxel Studio's palettes can be loaded directly into the editor. Use the palette picker to pull a seed or personal palette in, or edit the working palette directly - colours are shared across all cells that use the same index, so retouching a colour repaints the whole model.

Settings panel

  • Name, Category.
  • Grid size X / Y / Z. Resizing preserves existing cells (no clipping).
  • Scale (metres) - how large a single voxel is in Unity once exported.

Save and export

Save stores the voxel on the server under your account. Save and Export chains a save with an immediate .unitypackage export using the pivot and AO settings from the side panel of the Custom Voxels workspace.
