The Clip Editor
intermediate how toThe Clip Editor opens when you click Edit on any animation clip or + Create new in the Animations workspace. It is a keyframe-based editor with a timeline, a 3D preview and a per-track inspector.
Layout
- Top - scrubber and transport controls (play, pause, loop, speed).
- Left - track list with one row per bone. Each row has a strip of keyframes.
- Centre - 3D preview of the rig (or of a selected character) posing at the current frame.
- Right - keyframe inspector. Shows position / rotation / scale values for the selected bone at the selected frame.
Workflow
- Pick a rig template. The editor spawns an empty clip with one track per bone.
- Scrub the timeline to the frame you want to key.
- Select a bone in the track list or in the viewport and change its transform.
- Click Key (or press K) to insert a keyframe at the current frame.
- Repeat. Voxel Studio interpolates between keyframes automatically.
Editing keyframes
- Drag a key horizontally to move it in time.
- Right-click a key for Delete, Copy, Paste, Change easing (linear / ease-in / ease-out / ease-in-out).
- Select multiple keys with a marquee and drag them together.
Preview character
The character dropdown lets you see the animation on any of your characters that uses the same rig. Useful for verifying that proportions look right on every instance.
Saving and thumbnail
Save stores the clip on the server and renders a 512 px thumbnail that shows the first frame. Re-saving re-renders the thumbnail.
