Characters Overview
beginner feature
The Characters workspace is a catalog and editor for rigged voxel characters. Each character is a tree of bones, with a voxel mesh attached to every bone node. Characters are driven by rig templates (see Rig Templates) so any animation authored on a rig template automatically works on every character that uses the same rig.
Categories
Seeded characters are grouped by type:
- Humanoid - hero, woman, boy, girl, orc, troll, goblin, minotaur, skeleton, zombie.
- Creature - cat, cow, pig, puma, lion, tiger, rhino, elephant, tortoise, giraffe.
- Monster - custom-designed aggressive NPCs.
- Boss - oversized bosses.
- Mount - rideable creatures.
- Prop - animatable props that share the character rig system.
- Dragon - seeded under the quadruped rig but with wings, horns and fangs.
Viewer
The right-hand viewer renders the selected character. Rotate with drag, zoom with scroll. If no rendered thumbnail is available, an SVG stick-figure placeholder is used.
Actions
- Edit - open the Character Editor.
- Duplicate - create a private copy.
- Delete - only available on characters you own.
- Export - see The Character Editor.
