Beautify 3 (HDRP) · Troubleshooting & FAQ

Solutions to the most common issues when using Beautify 3 with HDRP.

Common Issues

SymptomCauseSolution
No visible effect Beautify not registered in the HDRP Asset Select your HDRP Asset, go to After Post-Processing custom passes, and add Beautify to the list. This step is mandatory for HDRP.
Volume override has no effect Override toggles not enabled In the Volume's Beautify override, make sure the checkbox next to each parameter group is checked. Unchecked overrides use default (off) values.
Effects visible in editor but not in build HDRP Asset in Quality settings differs from editor Ensure the HDRP Asset used in Quality > HDRP for your target quality level also has Beautify registered in After Post-Processing.
Depth of Field not working DoF override not fully enabled Check that both the DoF toggle and its sub-parameters (distance, aperture, etc.) have their override checkboxes enabled in the Volume.
Bloom looks burned/saturated Bloom threshold too low or intensity too high Increase Bloom Threshold to limit which pixels bloom. Reduce Bloom Intensity for a subtler effect. Note: HDRP's built-in bloom runs separately.
Artifacts or flickering Conflicting post-processing effects Disable HDRP's built-in equivalents (e.g., HDRP Bloom) if using Beautify's version. Overlapping effects can produce unexpected results.
Build takes very long All shader variants being compiled Beautify compiles multiple shader variants on first build. Subsequent builds use the cache. Use the Intensity parameter's quality mode to reduce variants.
Frost FX not rendering Frost texture not assigned Assign a frost texture in the Beautify override. Without a texture reference, the frost effect has nothing to render.
Performance lower than expected High-Quality mode with many effects Switch to Best Performance mode. See Performance Tips for detailed optimization guidance.
