Grass
« on: August 29, 2021, 02:48:29 PM »
Hello, everyone. I've been using Global Snow with Enviro since yesterday. If it snowed on my map, the grass is then red instead of green. Does anyone know why?

If I set the snow complexity to flat shading, the grass is normal.

Sorry for the double post. Couldn't modify the first message.

Hi!

Are you using forward or deferred rendering path? Try switching to deferred and unpacking the optional grass & billboard package for deferred included with the asset.

Hi, I'm having the same problem, but I'm using the Advanced Terrain Grass asset. Any guidance on how to modify the shader to stop the red effect?

I'm using deferred rendering and imported this. Grass And Billboard Support. I have it in Unity 2020 and in 2021.

Just checked Global Snow with Unity 2020 latest LTS version and couldn't notice any red colors on grass. This is what I did:

1.- Opened the deferred demo scene.
2.- Painted some zones with grass.
3.- Imported the package for grass & billboards from the deferred shaders folder.
4.- Restarted Unity.
5.- Grass shows partially covered by snow. I can adjust the coverage in the Global Snow inspector of the grass. So far, it looks good. Nothing red.

Could you please send me a repro by pm? I'll take a quick look into it.

The error occurs as soon as I use the "Advanced Terrain Grass" asset. have now deactivated the asset and the grass is green. But after every restart of Unity I have to delete the "WavingGrass" and "WavingGrassBillboard" Shader and import them again from "GrassAndBillboardSupport" otherwise the grass will not be covered with snow. Do you have an idea why?

Thx :)

I guess you have other grass shaders in the project so they kind of override one over each other. Make sure the only grass shaders are those included with Global Snow.
