How detailed can the map be?
« on: July 29, 2020, 12:55:47 AM »
Hi, I am really interested in this product, but have a few questions. Is there a max amount of provinces the map can handle? And is there a limit to the level of detail for the 3D terrain? My aim is to create something similar to Hearts of Iron 4, but with a more detailed map, allowing for more tactical combat rather than just combat on a grand scale, is this something that could be done?
Thanks, liquidwhale

WMSK map is suitable for grand scale strategy, at province level. You can zoom in more but map will pixelate.
If you need a seamless zoom transition between planetary and ground levels, then this might not be the best tool for that, except if you use the tiled map mode (ie. Google Earth style maps) in which there's no problem because the tile contents are dynamic but that's probably a different kind of app.

Ah I understand, would it be possible to have a LOD type system for the 3d map so that I could be able to zoom in on a smaller scale?
Thanks, liquidwhale
