For an authoritative server, there would not be a need to build the visual chunk data, and also server boxes often aren't equipped with advanced GPUs, so it would be great if there were an option to tell the system only to build the collision, navigation, etc data that the server would actually need to perform its duties, and skip passed all the rendering related portions, mesh building, mesh gpu uploading, geometry shaders, etc as much as possible. I'm guessing that servers will probably need to run with geometry shaders off at least, so whatever the alternative pathway is for chunk building can hopefully be further sped up by disabling the mesh generation.

Second this request for the same reasons.  To be clear, what this means would be: can we have a clean separation that allows us to divorce the "simulation" side of the work from the "visualization" side?
