Title: Minor issue with the code on the "How to hide voxels?" knowledge center page
Post by: students_t on June 18, 2021, 04:06:22 PM
Hi! First time posting here, so forgive (and correct) me if I'm not doing things the right way here. I don't think the issue is related to my platform (although it is conceivable that I somehow don't have things set up correctly; at this stage I think it's more likely I've overlooked something subtle than that I would catch something, but who knows—hopefully this is somehow helpful), but...

I am using latest version of asset and believe I have followed the setup instructions. Unity 2020.3.11f1. Mac. Built-in RP.

The page in question (https://kronnect.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/42000076809-how-to-hide-voxels- (https://kronnect.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/42000076809-how-to-hide-voxels-)) provides code that is perhaps particularly of interest to people trying to use the 3rd person controller (that's the demo I was tinkering around with anyway). However, that demo does not tag the Camera as MainCamera, so the script throws an error. This is a very minor issue that only appears in select circumstances, but I just thought I'd mention it.

Incidentally, a little off-topic, but I was also curious about the see-through alpha value. Is this page (https://kronnect.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/42000058885-see-through-occluding-voxels- (https://kronnect.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/42000058885-see-through-occluding-voxels-)) maybe a little outdated? The page talks about and shows videos of use of the alpha value for the See Through options on the Voxel Play Environment. However, I do not see an Alpha field in my version. Odds are I have probably overlooked something though, so apologies in advance if so. Has the field been (re)moved?

Hi,

The first code snippet assumes there's a camera tagged as MainCamera but you can replace it with any other camera reference. The demo has been fixed so the Camera gameobject is now tagged as MainCamera so no problem for the future.

Regarding the second issue, yes, you're right - this is a regression bug that hides that alpha property from the inspector. Please download latest beta which fixes this.
